Details of Ugadi Sambaralu & Youth Festival On 8th April

The program was started by lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest of the evening Mr.K.N.S. Dass, Country Head, and UAE Exchange. President Dr.D.Veeranna in his welcome address conveyed greetings to members for a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous  “Pardivanama Samvathsaram”. He thanked Mr.Dass for his support for arts in general and to TKS in particular. He informed the members that TKS has sent Rs2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakhs) towards Tsunami Relief Fund to A.P.Chief Minister’s Fund. It was handed over to CM by one of the Executive Committee Members Mr.Omprakash. He said that elections are round the corner for the next year. He emphasized the need for members’ commitment to strengthen TKS for the benefit of coming generations. He dwelt upon the need for more people with dedication and commitment to come forward to serve TKS. He praised the members’ strong resolve to maintain strong and healthy TKS.

Mr.Dass in his address to members conveyed his greetings for New Year, “ Parthivanama Samvathsaram”. He said that his link to TKS is not business but relation, strong relation with people. Establishing relation is important. Business automatically follows. He expressed that his group is committed to support arts and culture. Support to TKS is a part of their over all commitment to the cause of Art & Culture. He expressed happy ness to be associated with TKS.

Sri Gullapati Jagannath performed “Panchanga Sravanam” which tells the things in store for the rest of the year for India, Andhra Pradesh and for different Zodiac signs. Pepeple listened the future with great interest. This was followed by Annamayya Keerthanalu by Sri Ramakrishna Bhagavathar. The program was conducted by General Secretary Mr.K.Suresh.

The instrumental support to Sri Ramakrishna Bhagavathar was rendered by Violin- Satheesh Chandran Moursang-Manoj and Mridangam-Mr.Harikumar. The Keerthanalu sung by Sri Ramakrishna covered a wide range of subjects like Venkateswarar Sthuthi, Janapadalu etc. Introductory commentary for each of these Keerthanalu by Mrs.Yamini brought added life to these melodies. Special Guest of the evening Mr.T.Viswanatha Reddy, Dy.General Manager, City International Exchange felicitated Sri Ramakrishna. This was followed by group dances of songs from latest movies by Saragam Dance School led by Mr.Eswar. Introductory commentary for these songs was given by Mr.B.Srinivas. A memento was presented to the Dance Group by the Chief Guest Mr.K.N.S.Dass. The memento was received by the Group Leader Mr.Eswar.

At the end of these programs, Vice President informed the members that the Committee would like to conduct the AGM before the members leave for summer vacation. Hence AGM is tentatively planned for 2nd Week of May and would like to conduct election of Executive Body for the for the year 2005-2006 before the AGM. He announced the election committee:

The committee will soon announce the election schedule.

The beginning of Parthivanama Savathsaram was celebrated by cake cutting. The cake was sponsored by Petra Trading. The vote of thanks was proposed by one of the Executive Committee Members Mr.T.Sumanth. This was followed by a delicious dinner with “Ugadi Pachadi”.
